I understand the dealer's profit. It makes sense to me - they have a lot of overhead and that cost needs to be offset somehow. But the price gouging is currently insane. My case and point of view is that my Infiniti FX50 had a failed TPMS sensor. My car shows me the tire pressure of each tire, but one of the tires keeps not reading. I contacted Discount Tire and they reset it for me, it worked for about a day and then flashed again. I called Infiniti. They said they could order a new TPMS sensor for me, install it and calibrate the TPMS system. for a hefty sum of several hundred per sensor. I called the Nissan dealer and they came back for about twenty dollars less. So I searched the internet and found this device with free shipping. I ordered it, got it for a tire discount and they mounted it for me and calibrated the TPS for free. The TPMS light is no longer lit on my console. And there's no hole in my pocket either.
