Better than expected

When buying boat speakers I was looking for something decent at a good price. With these endless speakers, I not only got decent, I got amazing! The accuracy and clarity of these speakers is much better than I expected, I overpowered these speakers at around 150 watts each and 12dB/o highs at around 130Hz (yes that's quite a lot) and I can drive my amps almost full Hours of performance with no issues with these speakers. I'm not asking for a lot of bass from these speakers in my setup, but they do produce a nice warm low-end when needed, but I've found that the actual "handling performance" of these speakers is very dependent on adding too much bass and too much Volume. . However, this applies to almost all speakers of this type of any brand, deep bass is intended for subwoofers. The tweeters are mounted in a trellis that gives the woofer cone a full surface area without a center hole, helping this 6x9 produce a stunning mid-bass punch. This is a prerequisite for a balanced system, they are not shrill or sharp. I listened to many marine speakers before settling on them, and the only marine speakers that were noticeably better quality were JL components, which cost over three times the price. I would like to add that this review is intended as a personal critique of these speakers to be used in a cabin or on a boat deck NOT a tower. I would not recommend using these speakers in a wakeboard speaker setup. This is simply because these speakers weren't designed for such use. I've never heard speakers like this (dome coaxial drivers or cone tweeters) sound good in a tower. It's simple, the sound from these speakers radiates in all directions, giving the listener balanced, accurate sound from almost any direction that is in line of sight in front of the speaker when they are close to the speaker. This is ideal for a salon where the listener is always within 10 feet of the speaker. In a wakeboard tower, the listener can be very far from the speaker, by the time certain (usually higher) frequencies reach the listener, they have dissipated to such an extent that the sound becomes extremely "tinny" and cheap, and the vocal range becomes clunky . Listeners completely different from what they sounded like in the booth. The answer to this question lies in using floorstanding speakers with a compression horn tweeter. It's expensive, but the way. In addition, compression drivers are more efficient than standard coaxial cables and require less power, which extends battery life. A number of companies make similar speakers, such as Wet Sounds, NVS, and a few others. Kicker is a great entry level setup for the kmt60. So to sum it up if you want to install solid, great sounding waterproof speakers in the cockpit/deck. Your boat, car, truck, buggy or whatever at a great price, look no further! Buy these Infinitys and give them lots of energy. Oh, and if these speakers are just over your budget save up and buy these Infinitys, they're ten times better than any cheaper marine speaker.
