Ball valves are a bit flimsy.

As others have said these are not the highest quality products. But then they're available at a bargain price and work great if you know what you're doing. Leaky connections are easily repaired by adding a small amount of Nylog to the fitting. The Schrader valve suppression problem is easily solved by loosening the Schrader suppressor element slightly with a Schrader valve tool. Ball valve handles have significant up and down play at the tip of the handle because the handles are not bolted flush to the valve body. As one can imagine, this play will cause the nylon ball to move to and from the correct position in the body of the case, which will likely result in a leak. I fixed this problem by unscrewing the handle and filling the space with a small fiber washer or other spacer. Check out this trail. If you can afford to pay $50 for an industrial grade ball valve (like Yellowjacket or similar), go ahead. If not, you can make these mediocre customizations work just fine if you know what you're doing. We are very lucky to have the choice.
