Review on πŸ“Ά NETGEAR C6230 WiFi Cable Modem Router - Compatible with Xfinity, Spectrum, Cox, and More, Up to 300Mbps Cable Plans, AC1200 WiFi Speed, DOCSIS 3.0 by Donald Cox

Revainrating 1 out of 5

It worked in the end, but it was an agonizing five hours.

I chose this product because it has Wi-Fi and is the preferred product for Xfinity. Had I known it would take hours to set up, I would have chosen a different product. 1) It took me three applications to set up the model. 2) I also had to shell out another $75 for a Wi-Fi extender because the one that worked with the previous Netgear model no longer worked. 3) I had to set up an account before anyone at Netgear could help me, and even then they could only suggest things like "turn off and turn on again". The instructions that came with the box didn't work. It was clear that I was confused with this equipment. Luckily I found out and fixed the problem myself (required a cable which was not included and which was not mentioned in the setup guide). Everything I've been told by Xfinity (two people) and Netgear (I've stopped the number of people I've spoken to) was false.

Pros
  • Rugged design
Cons
  • No automatic
