The fit and finish of this tailor is excellent. Starts reliably after pressing the ignition button twice. The flame can be regulated within a narrow range, but is certainly sufficient for most household soldering jobs. I use this with a 1lb propane tank (short, short) and it works great. I suspect that the people who had trouble with the flashlight used tall and narrow bottles. This can be problematic due to the properties of propane. When propane is released from a pressurized tank, it cools suddenly, which can cause ice to form on the tank's neck. The ice blocks the flow of propane, resulting in a weak flame. Short, chunky bottles don't cool as suddenly, so you'll rarely have ice problems.
