Yes, it makes espresso (sort of) and what I can only describe as whipped coffee is a big deal. You have NO control over it. My complaints: 1. The espresso was not extracted sufficiently. The water is not hot enough, the pressure is not high enough. This makes the result "look" like espresso by agitating it to create an artificial froth. Tastes like strong coffee.2. The name of the pods says nothing about strength. They use nonsensical Frethalian words to sound nice, but it's like beans roasted to varying degrees of darkness. It would help if they just wrote the intensity number on the capsules, but no, you need to know the difference between the made-up names.3. The coffee is just terrible. I still use my Keurig when I want a regular cup of coffee. Don't think for a second that this is going to replace your coffee maker.4. The additional milk frother is also useless. Not only does it not heat the milk, but if you heat the milk yourself, the machine will flash red and not work (too hot!). Waste of an extra $90 for a better whisk. Better buy a cheap manual espresso machine than this advertised overpriced junk.
