My son (and all the neighborhood kids who are in our house all the time) love making slime, but I wanted something different. It comes in small plastic envelopes that are difficult for children to open and use and look like some kind of "glow-in-the-dark" pigment powder. Powder sticks to wooden stirrer, use plastic. It took 1/2 envelope (66 cents worth) of powder to adequately color a SMALL batch of slime (20mg glue, 30mg water, 10mg whitewater). HOWEVER, this is true. COOL when it's done! Make sure you have airtight plastic containers to fill with! (e.g. small cup containers with lids). After it was made and sat for a while, the color REALLY got a little darker. I didn't tell my son that the pigment was anything special, I just let him play. It took him a few minutes to see the color change (like I said it's not dramatic) but as he ALREADY saw it he couldn't figure out what happened :) I told him to just put it away, and I put it right next to the air conditioner vent. The next time he saw it, it was dark blue again! When I told him what it was (he is 10 years old) he played with it for a long time, heated it with his hands, put it back in the container and poured hot water over it etc. LOTS of fun, and some educational value.
