Update Review I originally tried these shorts on a commando without the shorts on top. The experience was not fun, they are too short and the elastic around the thigh is not tight enough to prevent them from standing up a bit. They expose some very sensitive areas of the skin. I then rode them and used a base layer or compression pants, nothing fancy or tacky just regular stretch pants and they worked really well. Very comfortable and did the job. Finally today I rode them commandos over them with a pair of windbreakers and WOW what's the difference. They are really very comfortable when driving when there is nothing underneath. No chafing, chafing, seams etc. To be honest I will definitely be ordering more of these and riding them and a pair of basic shorts over them instead of regular soft shorts. In short, they are not intended to be used alone. . But with anything below or above, they work great.
