My original Nuvi power/traffic cable disconnected right where it connects to the 90" plug. Under the black case is a very thin strand of wire covered with insulation (this is the power supply). Surrounding this insulated core are numerous bare wires (they provide grounding). It is very similar to coaxial cable. I use this device in my work machine all day and don't want to lose the jam function. The traffic receiver is located just below the end of the 12V plug. This cable, although smaller in diameter, is exactly the same as the original! I cut it off about 30cm from the connector and connected it analogously to my original cable and now my Nuvi works like new! I work with wires/wiring so it took me less than 2 minutes from start to finish!
