My step stool is everywhere in my kitchen, beautiful or ugly. I'm small and need a stool every day, whether small or large. I can't even put my clean dishes down without a step stool. My stool was made of steel and I was tired of carrying it. Should be aluminum. If it looked pretty, that was an advantage. I spent over an hour and a half looking at step stools, reading sizes and reviews, and finally settled on this one, despite some misgivings. But I'm very satisfied. The bottom steps are deep enough that I don't feel like I'm going to fall and the top step is taller so I can stand fully on the top step and still feel safe. Also, like some stools, the bottom step is close to the ground. The older I get the less I enjoy climbing ladders, but it still makes me feel like I can do things on my own, including cleaning dishes.
