Product has been in stock for so long that the battery will not charge

I purchased this product for a global conference I am hosting. When I received the box, I opened it, read the instructions and started loading. After 18 hours it won't accept a charge, plugged it in through my laptop, tried it through the adapter plug and tried it through a direct USB socket. Nothing really disappoints. I plan to buy the same device again and return the original, hopefully I'll have better luck with the next one.
