Perfect pencils UNLESS you need to mix.

TLDR: Nice bright colors mix easily on paper, but not well. CASING: These pens come in 3 tiers in a beautiful metal case. The set includes a sharpener and an eraser. The eraser is useless, you can't effectively erase the traces of the oil pen. The layers of the case have finger grips, making them easy to move around. STRENGTH: Wires are tougher than you think and not easy to break. The leads are in the middle of the tree, so they are sharpened without breaking. SHARP: They stay sharper longer than my Prismacolor wax pencils. This is my first oil based pencil set. COLORS / COLOR CHART: Colors are clear and vibrant. color chart attached. Instead of painting directly on the color chart, I copied the color chart onto a piece of drawing paper as it tells me more about the color and texture of the pencils on the paper I'm actually using. My home office printer has a scan and print capability, or most office centers only charge a quarter for it. LAYERABLE: These pencils layer like my Prismacolors, maybe even better. MIX: They don't mix very well. However, I'm used to wax-based pencils, so I may just not know how to mix oil-based pencils, so I'm giving no stars for that. I've tried different ways of blending them and so far the only way to get a decent blend is to lightly tint one color and then another and create multiple layers that way and it still doesn't look good out.
