Bought this aftermarket replacement water filter (Glacier model GF1000P) for my LG fridge, worst mistake ever. And yes, I have verified that the model is correct. I've been changing the water filter on the fridge for 2 years, it's not rocket science. Read the instructions; According to the letter, it took 2 hours to flush the system, pouring water every 30 seconds and 60 seconds as instructed. When I was done, I gave a glass of water to drink. The first thing that struck me was the CHEMICAL SMELL, it was overpowering. I tasted it, ui! It was so dirty I spat it in the sink without swallowing it. The water had an awful CHEMICAL TASTE. Thinking I had a defective water filter I installed the 2nd in the kit. The same result, unpleasant taste and smell of water. I thought maybe it would be ok if I flushed it a little more so I flushed 4 gallons through the fridge, the taste and smell NEVER went away. Quickly order an OEM part and install it; my water tastes good again! In the future I will always buy LG parts for my fridge and never trust the aftermarket again. ATTENTION TO THE BUYER.
