I have a platform rack for my car so the sole purpose of this extension was to attach my carbon fiber bikes to my work rack. This pole is perfect. It's a lot stronger and prettier than I actually need, but I'm glad I spent the extra money. I leave the bar locked to the stand and just pop the bike in. It's as quick and easy as attaching it to the stand itself. This approach causes the bike to wobble, but that's not a problem and not the fault of the extension. Happy customer, would recommend to others who are unable to securely mount their carbon frames and don't have enough room for the seat tube.
