Decent quality car electronics

I bought this camera to replace a 720p USB DVR and it was definitely a step up. Video quality in daylight is bright and clear, but looks a bit washed out at times. There's a bit of noise in low light, and images can look a bit washed out even under headlights (i.e. the car's license plate in front of you is unreadable, but the number in the adjacent lanes is clear). But then again, the video is definitely better than my old DVR. It's brighter, clearer and more detailed. The assembly of this camera is very interesting. It's a good idea to put a micro SD card in the base. This frees up bandwidth on the USB connection that is not full duplex. It's an attractive, low-profile body, but camera settings are limited. On my car, it shows the entire hood at its highest point, but is still high enough to only show the traffic lights. This is the best USB DVR I've tried, although there is still room for improvement this is a very good deal. by price.
