Review on πŸ” TF02-i Lidar Sensor: 40m Medium-Range Distance Ranging Finder Module for Drone/Robot Obstacle Avoidance - Compatible with Pixhawk, Arduino, and Raspberry Pi (RS485 Version) by Sean Maile

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Extremely accurate choice for security and surveillance applications

Used for range finders with Arduino Nano. It is extremely accurate, reading just over 39 feet. Unlike an ultrasonic distance sensor, it measures the maximum distance when out of range. The only downside is that it's difficult to read in a very dusty environment. Also when used at a great distance from the Arduino (30-40 feet) it doesn't read, so I had to design the sensor next to the Arduino and power the LCD myself. Finding the code took a while.

Pros
  • Highly rated by testers for grip and durability
Cons
  • Not as thick as other options
