I followed the instructions exactly (including briefly lighting the forge 20 times and allowing the forge to cool between cycles to dry wool and hardener). The first coat of refractory went smooth and I let it dry for 24 hours before applying the second coat. But after another 24 hours, several cracks appeared on this coating. I started the curing process (hoping I could use an extra pound of "repair refractory" to patch the cracks after curing); but already during the first curing cycle, large pieces of cement began to fall off. I'm afraid it's not safe to use.
