Review on 🔥 OXO Brew Adjustable Temperature Kettle: Perfectly Clear, Electric and Versatile by Kelly Ponder

Update: 12/14/2020: I noticed that I didn't follow my last update. I ended up sending back the replacement kettle I received and cleaning the original kettle with silicone very carefully. From what I remember, the silicone seal seemed to be glued on too tightly, so I carefully cleaned the inside of the kettle and soaked it in vinegar. After a thorough rinse, the silicone taste was gone and the kettle was just wonderful. However, in September 2019, the kettle had problems with heating and beeped a few minutes later, although the water temperature was still below 100 degrees. Luckily it was under warranty and OXO replaced it with no issues. The replacement kettle I received didn't have the same problem as my original one (water left in the kettle tasted like silicone); The kettle is used several times a day and still works great. Despite the issues I had initially, I'm glad I stopped there. Update: 3/2/18: I received my replacement kettle but it has been openly used and repackaged. It was packaged with the base, without the original packaging, thrown in a box next to the kettle, and the kettle was covered in smudges and fingerprints. I am disappointed to say the least. I really wanted to like this teapot. It works great and is very easy to use. However, I noticed that the water in the kettle takes on a strong silicone taste after a short time. If I use the water right away, it tastes normal, but if I want to use the "Heat" function, I get the silicone-flavored tea. not good. I cleaned the kettle when it first arrived and I've since boiled a few shots of water to see if the silicone taste would go away and so far it hasn't. I love everything else about this kettle so I ordered a replacement and hope my issue is just a fluke. From the looks of it, I don't want to drink water from this kettle.
