I recently purchased a 1984 Kemei cordless clipper. I bought a set of 2 ceramic knives with 4 holes. It took about 6 minutes to remove the original steel blade and replace it with a ceramic blade. This also includes the zero play of the new blade. I screwed in a new blade, coated the blades with machine oil, turned on the machine and checked the gap. I then tried the new setting on my hair at 1/2, 1/16 and no protection for effectiveness. The blade runs colder than steel, but because it's harder than steel, it's also more brittle. You should protect your blades with a cover or blade guard when storing your clippers. Also, regular whetstones don't sharpen ceramics, so I recommend keeping an extra blade on hand in case it breaks or becomes dull. I recommend ceramic blades for daytime cutting as they are sharper and cooler.
