I used this on a custom smoker I made a while back. It is believed that there are many thermal cycles and this material is really important! It's strong enough to close the gap/airspace, but "compliant" enough to keep the lid very close to where it should be. Some gaskets are too thick or hard, preventing the lid from closing properly. I think this one works better. I wish the glue was a little stronger. Everything seems fine, but I notice that the beginning and end of the seal are slightly raised. No wow what a deal. but when you feel the glue on your back. it just doesn't feel crazy sticky. So don't forget to pre-clean the surface well, everything will be fine. (Because it's also very wide, you can cut it down the middle and make it double in size!)
