This headlamp has a hard case that is curved. Needless to say.everyone's forehead curvature is different. So, I think the curved hard case is more effective for creating a fan-shaped flood light, rather than fitting people's foreheads. Regardless, it feels pretty comfortable to wear.I've used extensively headlamps that are rated between 300 to 500 lumens. This headlamp is quite bright and I would say it's truly 400 lumens.unlike many other headlamps that claim to have unrealistically high lumen ratings.The only minor issue is that the power button is quite small and fairly flat. So, it would take you a few uses to get comfortable in "feeling" where the power button is with your finger to turn it on/off.If you only need a headlamp with floodlight, I'd highly recommend this. Personally, I still like headlamps that have both spot light and floodlight for camping trips.
