Review on ๐Ÿ”ง ACDelco Professional 45D0103: Front Upper Suspension Ball Joint Assembly by Douglas Cochrane

Revainrating 4 out of 5

The ball joint is fairly light, the boot is another story

Because of the quality I always use a Delco AC whenever possible. I have 400k on my Sierra and I wouldn't use anything else. The ball joint is easy to press in. As already mentioned, the download is difficult to install. I went to Home Depot and got a 1 1/4" PVC collar that matched the rim of the boot perfectly and tapped the boot a little to get it straight and then used a press tool to trim it all the way down to put down.. the boot sits flush with the retaining ring. I hired a free press tool from Advance Auto, they have a large kit with lots of bushings and boots. I only gave it 4 stars because it didn't have a washer for it. In. the factory nut had a washer built in which you cannot remove, without a washer the castle nut is tightened through the cotter pin hole, you will need a washer to properly line up the holes in the castle nut with the hole in the ball joint shaft.
