We bought these to tie down the cargo net/tarp covering our tow-hitch luggage cart which is holding our suitcases as we leave for vacation tomorrow morning. They looked great, reviews of them were excellent, and then we tried using them. One completely sprung apart, the pin holding the ratchet in place snapped off and the ratchet mechanism broke apart. The others are holding, but we are rather worried now and had to make a quick last-minute adjustment with bungee cords, which are not as secure and rather defeat the purpose of the nice ratchet tie downs. We had to loop and tie the cords, because we aren't confident in the structural integrity of the product - unfortunately, we are leaving in the morning, so I can't do a refund - we had to make due as best we could. VERY disappointing, to say the least.UPDATE: I notified the seller of my issues and received an immediate response with an offer to send replacement ratchet ties. We were on vacation, so I received them when we returned home - not only did the seller send a replacement, they actually sent several new sets - and one additional individual one to replace the one that broke in our original set. We have not needed to use the new ones yet, so I don't know if there will be any similar issues, but I was very impressed by the seller's responsiveness and attempts to resolve my issues. Unfortunately, we don't need them at the moment - we got them for a specific trip and it is now complete - so I don't really have any reason to work up an entirely new setup to see if they have any of the same issues. But they look to be structurally integral, so I'm cautiously optimistic that our experience with the original set was a fluke and that with the replacement products will be more in line with other customers' glowing reviews.
