AC class performance not received

I am an IT professional. Got a laptop from the office to replace a dead HP 440 G6. I wanted to see if I could increase my network speed a bit since I have high speed internet. I got around 320Mbps on the existing onboard Intel WIFI chip. The BEST speed I was able to get from this adapter was 82Mbps, which is hardly what you would expect from an adapter advertised as AC class. The investment is definitely not worth it. Additionally, the design requires 1/4 inch on each side, so when using a laptop with horizontal side ports, accessing an adjacent port can be a little tricky. Back immediately.
