I took a photo of distant posters with fonts - the result surprised me, I checked it several times. The second drawback (reminded me of the original fifty dollars of the second series) is lame autofocus. In difficult conditions (oblique surface, bright background, surface with little reflections), he never caught focus. Canon consistently caught it there, and quickly refocused from the bright background to this complex subject in the foreground and back again. Really liked it. Allegedly, there is no loud squeal of the motor and the Chinese - exactly like the old Canon fifty dollars. The verdict is this: if the budget is tight, take it. The picture is very similar to the old popular Canon, only the bokeh is not "nutty" due to the 7-blade aperture. I was not satisfied with the sharpness in the open and, as I repeat, autofocus, which froze me out even on the old fifty dollars. For example, if you shoot a bicycle with a lake in the background, focus on the frame - shish! out of 20 frames, one or two focus on her, the rest - by. STM is more pleased. I tested it at home - I shot a flower in strong backlight from the sky. I am satisfied with the result - there are also misses, but at least a high-quality frame can be obtained.
