Review on Enhanced Flight Safety with Stratux ADS-B Receiver: Weather & Traffic - Units with Antennas by James Roberts

This product is amazing. As a CFI flying 7 days a week in one of the busiest airspaces in the country (Dallas/Fort Worth), I can't overstate the number of times Stratux has saved me and my students from traffic jams onboard. First, let's talk about the price. Whether you're on a budget or not, Stratux is without a doubt the best deal. Flying is expensive enough as it is, so why spend $500 or more on anything when you can get all the functionality you need (traffic, weather, AHRS) for less than half the price of a Scout, Sentry, Stratus . , etc.? I use Stratux with ForeFlight and have never had connection issues. Only once have I had an issue with an SD card and when I contacted Sean (Stratux Customer Service) he resolved the issue as quickly as possible which is rare these days and I haven't had any issues since. . I flew for a few hours in Texan summer weather and even though the weather was near freezing and I had no problems. An external battery will typically power the unit for a full day of flying, but I bought an additional external battery just in case. I recommend Stratux for peace of mind and security. While there is no substitute for visual scanning for aircraft, the Stratux was an incredible tool to add a tremendous level of situational awareness and I refuse to fly without my Stratux. We also recommend adding another $10 and purchasing the CO2CREA hard case to carry your device in to avoid unnecessary wear and tear on the Stratux.
