Critical limitation, mine won't work in cold climates

Great product for the price. When it works, it works great. The biggest problem I have is the temperature tolerance. The last few flights it just wouldn't load no matter what I did. The status light stayed red, WiFi didn't appear. So I gave up. But every time I get home it boots up normally again. It finally dawned on me that it might be the temperature. Today I put it in the fridge for 30 minutes and suspected during the strike, as well as in the field. I let it sit at room temperature for a…

A very good implementation of a great idea.

When I first bought my Stratux from Crew Dogs Electronics I had an accuracy problem that never improved beyond 30 meters except for a short time. When I called and spoke to their tech support, I was immediately offered a replacement unit and received it in about three days. The new device had the accuracy of 10m listed in ForeFlight more than 95% of the time. Since the internal GPS had to be WAAS, 10m was not enough. Their tech support (in the same conversation as before) suggested I buy an…

AHRS works great on most EFBs. I heard

Ordered a few days before a long VFR trip on my 182 that I hadn't planned. I was planning to build my own using the Stratux model. Not having enough time, I decided to order this device assembled. Does everything a STRATUS does except makes AHRS a little jumpy on preflight. I bet it's only a matter of time before Mr. Young and his people get it right. From what I've heard, AHRS works great on most EFBs. In-flight graphic radar and current METAR across the country was critical as I dodged wx for

What a wonderful device!

I have flown with this guy several times and I LOVE him. It is not only fully functional, but also reliable and significantly cheaper than branded devices. I connected mine to Foreflight and it works like a charm. I use suction cups and stick it to the rear quarter window in our Club Cherokee. There is always good reception with antennas pointing upwards. I have a friend who puts his on the dashboard, but it's terribly hot in the summer. I had no problems with Stratux at all. It's a bit of work

An ABSOLUTE MUST if you fly. Watch and avoid EARLY

This product is amazing. As a CFI flying 7 days a week in one of the busiest airspaces in the country (Dallas/Fort Worth), I can't overstate the number of times Stratux has saved me and my students from traffic jams onboard. First, let's talk about the price. Whether you're on a budget or not, Stratux is without a doubt the best deal. Flying is expensive enough as it is, so why spend $500 or more on anything when you can get all the functionality you need (traffic, weather, AHRS) for less than…

Excellent customer support!

So, after some initial problems, literally Stratux related, Sean at Crew Dog Electronics contacted me within the hour. Full disclosure, as it's been over 30 days (nearly 2 months) since I bought the Stratux I haven't even considered getting permission from Crew Dog Electronics as a viable option. So I mistakenly assumed I was alone with any "problems" I had with Stratux. However, I was very wrong. Even at this point, CDE's Sean was quick to assess the situation. Regarding my loss of GPS signal…
