Review on Enhanced Flight Safety with Stratux ADS-B Receiver: Weather & Traffic - Units with Antennas by Jamie Sorenson

What a wonderful device!

I have flown with this guy several times and I LOVE him. It is not only fully functional, but also reliable and significantly cheaper than branded devices. I connected mine to Foreflight and it works like a charm. I use suction cups and stick it to the rear quarter window in our Club Cherokee. There is always good reception with antennas pointing upwards. I have a friend who puts his on the dashboard, but it's terribly hot in the summer. I had no problems with Stratux at all. It's a bit of work at first, but the guide is really detailed and very well written, and the website helps too. The videos are so helpful! I cannot put into words how much I respect Crew Dog. The packaging was excellent and the kit is very thoughtfully put together (I bought the pre installed version which only requires assembling the battery and suction cup mount). As for bulkiness, I was concerned about that with those large antennas and overall size. But that's no problem at all after a little use. I keep the antennas in my flight bag and the device along with the headset in the main compartment. Preparing for the flight only takes a few minutes: screw on the antennas, plug in the power cable and attach to the window. When I buckle up and set up my iPad, it's ready to go. I also like that it is a small starter kit. I don't mind buying good products from big companies, but I LOVE buying them from smaller competitors who still think like their own customers and love what they do more than just making a profit. Come on crew dog!
