Original review: *There is too much metal protruding from the alternator bolt hole where the bolt connecting the alternator to the engine mount goes through. To install this in my 1996 Camry I had to go to a home store and buy a metal file ($10 for a small kit) so I could remove about 1mm of metal from the generator to fit the mounting area. But after I did that, everything worked great and I haven't had any problems so far. Good product apart from an extra hour of inconvenience that I had to take a metal file set and shave off part of the alternator to fit my car. For the price ($30 less than other Amazon offerings), I'd say it's worth it. As long as you're willing to do a little filing (extremely easy, this is my first time filing metal) - I'd say it's a great investment! Correction corrected: alternator defective. does not keep the battery charged. I regret purchasing this item. it would be great if it could survive but for 3 months life i give it -5 stars, it wasn't worth the effort i put to install it.
