Review on πŸ”¨ Bosch Power Tools: Enhancing Woodworking with Aggressive Precision by Keith Alvord

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Full recommendation - best value for money

Media could not be loaded. Update August 2020: I can fully recommend this device at half the price of the Festool Rotex. Check out the video upload of the walnut and epoxy serving tray - it's not about whether you want to mix epoxy into your woodwork, but epoxy is known to be a lot harder to sand properly than hardwood so I'm including it for reference. This device has a fairly aggressive stroke, but if you use the right slow-motion technique (e.g. 1 ips) and move the abrasive properly, you can get very good finishing sanding results, although it can also capture material while rotating. . the mode in the lower croup is also very good. I think this is as close as possible to a universal grinder, especially at an affordable price. Dust extraction is excellent, especially when using mesh sandpaper as the pad has many large and small holes. You see on the more advanced Festool or 3M sandpaper. I'll bet Mirka Deros Wild outperformed this machine in the finishing touches and maybe even in a few other categories and maybe Festool could beat them in the dust extraction category but I'm not sure the grinder won't handle all of the tasks of this one. for the price you pay for Bosch. Just buy this one and use the money saved to invest in your favorite brand of sandpaper. Original: I am very impressed with this device. He is doing very well. Turbo mode is more powerful than you might think, but delivers beautiful and productive results. On my first use I quickly sanded a rough walnut primer and then progressed to a finer grit in regular orbital mode for an incredible surface for applying Rubio Monocoat. Even with a cheap vacuum from the store, the dust pickup exceeded my expectations. I would highly recommend this unit unless your workshop and craft somehow calls for another brand of green button tools, although I'm not sure this unit will actually be any better, especially given the price difference. Update 10/29/19: Please note that the 2nd generation device has an improved hole pattern for dust extraction (from what I can tell about the 1st generation hole pattern). In addition to the usual large holes that universal sandpaper has, there are many smaller holes. I believe that the second generation is more suitable to use the improved sandpaper dust removal technology and the new sanding grids.
