They cut pretty much everything. With the EZ-Lock, they can be removed and installed in seconds. I've cut metal, plastic, wood and possibly other materials. However, they are not very strong and can easily break if mishandled. If you use them carefully, there will be no problems. But if you try too hard, you can break them. When you put the tool down, do not put anything on it or put pressure on it, as you can easily break the disc. But once I broke one I became more careful afterwards and removed the disc from the mandrel as I stored the tool and never broke more discs. Another problem is that they wear out quickly. If you only need such a disc cutter occasionally, it can last you quite a while. Although they wear out quickly, I still buy them because I can quickly switch to a new drive and get the job done. When I cut a lot of metal, I use metal cutting discs attached to another mandrel that secures the cutting disc with a screw. They are much cheaper but take longer to replace hard drives. Overall, I still like these Dremel EZ-Lock wheels and will continue to buy them. And if you run into problems or need parts for any of your Dremel tools, Dremel has one of the best customer service departments I've ever come across. Don't buy fakes, buy a Dremel.
