I used this kit to convert my house phone lines to data lines. My house is only 4 years old so the phone/data lines have a dual purpose depending on the ends of the connectors. I used a crimping tool to remove the outer PVC layer, did a great job. What surprised me was that I was expecting deeper cuts for deburring. No, cut deep enough to just peel the PVC off. Although these are category 5e cables, the mileage may vary depending on possibly thicker category 6 and higher cables. The connections also worked great. Next crimping tool for crimping. The line tester helped me determine which ends my lines fit into. In my case: kitchen, office and garage. Later I'll run some Cat6 wires across all the remaining spots in my house.
