Lost my crimping tool I got from RadioShack millions of years ago. This one was good value and came with a tester, two packs of Cat5 connectors and a couple of good stress protectors. I only used the testers to make sure I had the connection to the ends, which I did. Worked great.

I ordered this item to make some ethernet cables to run from a router to my home office. The first set I received didn't crimp the wires properly and after twelve tries the cable still wasn't properly connected to the tester that came with it. I emailed the seller and received a quick response and a full replacement set even though I only asked for a crimping tool. Good service! Thank you guys!

This kit is awesome. The tools work great. Very easy to use with simple instructions and the plug tester was a big bonus. Professional quality tools cost five times as much in big stores. This is a good tool and great combination set. The crimping tool works great and is worth the money. With connectors, this is the perfect solution. One thing I didn't like and that is the connection tester. It's very cheap and has weak connections. I literally plugged in the first cable to test it and it showed that it worked. I used this kit to convert my house phone lines to data lines. My house is only 4 years old so the phone/data lines have a dual purpose depending on the ends of the connectors. I used a crimping tool to remove the outer PVC layer, did a great job. What surprised me was that I was expecting deeper cuts for deburring. No, cut deep enough to just peel the PVC off. I've had no luck placing connectors on a CAT6 cable. I've tried half a dozen times and each time one or more wires were not crimped properly the cable became unusable. The specific cable (also purchased from Revain) may have been a factor, but when I bought a better tool locally I was able to crimp the connectors, which worked on the first try.
