Ordered them based on material - wanted something non-toxic to replace the non-detachable beads in heavy (used in size 6 and 8) earrings. It's nickel-plated steel. It worked perfectly! Heavy, well made, smooth, stiff enough to barely flex to snap into place. Don't cling to my hair, don't let go. I will not return to the captured pearls. I recommend it to anyone who is tired of chasing large beads around the room. Yes, the beads should not fall out. But they do. This? Not necessary.
