If you're like me you lose those stupid cables if you have to move them. I finally lost my last cable and my phone lasted 2 days before losing its charge. I now have one left for my laptop bag, both vehicles, my bedside lamp and two in case I invariably lose them. They work great with my laptop, both for charging and transferring data. Maybe other people just have a bad cable? It happens sometimes.
