That thing is damn cool! Absolute MUST for Rockhounds! Now that I have it, I will take it with me everywhere. The loupes I got in my mineral kits when I did the geology exam are fine, but they only give 10x magnification. The thing does 60x-100x and lights up! I struggled to see the crystal structures of the stones I collected in Baghdad through a $20 microscope. Since I didn't have any stone tools there (other than my couple of mugs, my stone hammer and chisel) I had to try to chip off pieces small enough to fit on the tray and I had to use a flashlight on the side. for lighting. This thing lights up right next to the lens so it illuminates exactly what you want to see. I'd love to share photos, but my camera doesn't have a lens that small. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!
