I like this design. The ratchet extension makes it easy to keep your phone or tablet at eye level, especially when using a keyboard. The product is made entirely of ABS plastic. The only piece of aluminum (very thin) is the hub, which houses the ratchet extension. The base is weighted to keep the stand from tipping over, but it's not the strongest due to the overall plastic used. When using a phone or tablet on a stand, you will find that the stand is not strong and your phone or tablet will wobble back and forth. It is good when you watch a movie or video. I wouldn't buy it again compared to another product with less expandability but a strong solid aluminum base.
