Review on Advanced Garmin HRM-PRO Heart πŸƒ Rate Transmitter: Unparalleled Accuracy and Performance by Jnis Labucis ᠌

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Didn't quite buy it well, had a little trouble using it.

I needed a second heart rate monitor, I decided to buy HRM-PRO. I looked at the review on the ProstObzor channel, I liked everything But after two weeks, this is what happened. * The HRM-PRO cannot be your first garmin device, you must already have a watch or bike computer. * in order to take advantage of all the features of the HRM-PRO, you need a fairly expensive watch / bike computer on the garmin website, of course, there is a list of supported devices, but it turns out that the HRM-PRO may not become your second garmin device so if you already have phoenixes or forerunners, then perhaps the purchase is justified, otherwise it’s cheaper to buy a polar or wahoo, especially since Garmin watches still support third-party heart rate monitors.

Pros
  • * stylish * pleasant to the touch * received two achievements in garmin connect (one for adding HRM-PRO, another for removing Polar H10) * garmin connect shows HRM-PRO battery charge * can connect to "concept 2 pm5" (you can watch the pulse on the screen) * can read the pulse from the belly, so as not to break it during the bench press
Cons
  • * only two electrodes, unlike PolarH10 where there are four of them * intermittently loses pulse for quite a long time for 6 workouts on 3 pieces were lost, lasting up to 50 seconds PolarH10 also lost my pulse, but literally, for one or two seconds * there is synchronization with garmin connect, but what it synchronizes there is not clear * the heart rate monitor does not work by itself, without a watch / bike computer * if the watch / bike computer does not support any metrics from HRM-PRO, then these metrics will not be available in garmin connect either (for example, running metrics or heart rate variability) * in the description of the HRM-PRO features there is information that it can count the heart rate variability, but in the end it turns out that 1. if the watch / bike computer does not know how to variability, then this will not get into garmin-connect, 2. The numerical indicator of pulse variability itself cannot be viewed, it will be used only when calculating the body-battery.
