Review on Wilson Power 40 Feet String Natural by Jeff Alradwan

Renamed Wilson NTX Tour String

First of all (according to sources like Tennis Warehouse and Tennis Express) this is just their renamed NTX Tour string. From the looks of it (and the specs), that's indeed the case, although Wilson himself is silent on the situation. I've been playing the NXT Tour for almost a decade now and after using this string I'm convinced it's the same string. But it's important to note that Wilson's new string naming strategy is misleading, to say the least. They've tried positioning the "handling," "comfort," and "strength" strings by distinguishing their strings with these keywords in the title, but that does a disservice to many of their strings, especially this one. Because there is no "more comfortable" string in the entire Wilson catalogue, indeed in the entire arsenal of every string player. As I said, I've been playing with this string for a long time, mainly because my hands are very sensitive. both the tension and the "stiffness" of the string. I've tried all the supposedly comfortable strings and they don't match this one. the power of almost every string. And the controls are pretty much the same. The previous 1 to 10 scale that Wilson used for its strings rated this string a 9 for power and comfort and an 8 for control. So what's the downside? Durability is a compromise when you're going with a string that gives you gut feel and power for less than half the price. I personally play these strings for about 6 weeks (about 6 times a week) but I don't play very hard (so I want the string to give me more power). Your mileage may vary. Bottom line, if you care about comfort at all in a string, you have no other choice - it gives you the power and control you need. Just don't pay the outrageous prices people are charging for the discontinued version (you shouldn't be paying more than $19 for this line anywhere).
