Update 12/07/18 – Ubiquiti is great at releasing new firmware every few days with tons of bug fixes in each version. Since version 4.0 this access point has been very reliable and I can confidently recommend it to anyone looking for a top quality access point in a compact form factor. There are still a few quirks and limitations associated with edge case features like wireless uplink, but the basic hotspot functionality works great and all my wireless devices now connect and stay connected with no issues. If you have devices that can use 4x4 MIMO, you can achieve incredible speeds. I also want to reiterate what an amazing engineering team at Ubiquiti. They actively participate in the support forums and are always looking for bug feedback and feature suggestions, most of which are implemented in a matter of days or weeks. I've really invested in this ecosystem and would recommend these products to anyone who has a solid web experience and enjoys crafting. Successor to UAP-AC-PRO. I've read that Ubiquiti's hardware needs quite a bit of work to get it right, and I'd say that's a fair statement after struggling with nanoHD, USG, and USW switches. The nanoHD appears to be in the early stages of firmware development and has a significant amount of bugs and instability compared to other APs in the park. I spent a heck of a lot of time keeping my devices on the 5GHz band and found the UBNT forums were full of users with the same problem. I've had to resort to downloading the latest beta firmware to stabilize things, but it's still not perfect. Support has been great so far, they really want to stabilize asap but I can't give this thing a thumbs up in its current state. If you're in a saturated RF environment, I'd recommend sticking with a stable UAP-AC-PRO for now and giving the nanoHD a little more time to cook.
