Review on Step2 by Richard Mangum

The Step2 Online Store Is a Major Letdown.

As a product manager, my experience shopping on the Step2 website was a huge letdown. Although they boast a large inventory, the quality of their goods is dubious. The toys and diversions they sell are of poor quality and won't last long. I was disappointed that the children's clothing I purchased for them wore out after only a few uses. The gardening implements are so cheap and poorly made that I won't even bother complaining about them. You get what you pay for, so while the rates may be fair. Instead of saving money, I'd rather put it toward something of higher quality. What about the online presence? It was a total failure. It's sluggish, complicated, and hard to use. I wasted more time trying to locate what I needed due to the ineffective search feature than I did actually making a purchase. The worst aspect, though? There is no support for customers. I contacted customer support because of a problem with one of my orders and never heard back from them. It's as if they have zero interest in satisfying their clientele. In general, Step2's web store is not a place I'd advise anyone to shop at. Their products are of low quality, and their website and customer support are difficult to navigate.

Pros
  • Products that are both entertaining and useful.
Cons
  • checkout procedure that is confusing.
