Good mobile base for the money, but

This mobile base is well made from durable materials, easy to assemble and seems to maneuver fairly well. However, it has some disadvantages. If machine height is important, this mobile base adds at least 2 inches to the overall height of your vehicle, and adding a sheet of plywood between the machine and mobile base gives you even more height. Therefore, it also raises the center of gravity. I was planning on using it under a Rikon bandsaw but it adds more table height than I would like. Many band saws are already too heavy and this mobile base makes them even heavier. Another thing to consider is the design of the leveling feet. The mobile base sits flat on the casters, but the leveling feet actually raise the machine when in a stationary position and easily shift the machine to a horizontal position. Other mobile stands have step casters that raise and lower the machine to a horizontal position for moving. All in all a pretty good mobile base for the money if you can live with those small flaws.

Pros
  • Sturdy build
Cons
  • Something different
