These bulbs do not get hot and the photos on Revain are a misrepresentation of what these bulbs look like when lit. You cannot see the amber at all as shown in my photos. The light is very, very bright - cool rather than warm. I've used 3 bulbs in candle lights that are on a dimmer and although I get a slight flicker at times it only lasts a few seconds once it sets. I love that these bulbs don't get hot, but they don't have the comfortable and warm aesthetic that I was looking for. In fact, the stone can's light can't be dimmed, and frankly, when I turn on this little light, it's too bright to look at comfortably. If the holidays weren't so close I would have sent them back. I was seriously disappointed.
