I wanted a portable kitchen grinder that would be handy when I'm on the go. I found this inexpensive paper shredder and was pleasantly surprised at its performance. I was a bit skeptical since it's battery operated, but I was able to blend garlic, spices, and a few other foods with ease. There are two stages that come in handy for blending at different speeds. Best of all, the base is made of glass and not plastic. Even my Ninja blender, which I use a lot, is plastic. As an added bonus, it also came with a small cleaning brush and a spatula for mixing food in the grinder.
