I like the size and relatively flat shape of this screen and the fact that the mesh is really fine. It fits perfectly in my stainless steel bowl so it won't tip or shift whether I'm straining a little or the basket is almost full. 304 stainless steel is 18/8 grade making it rust and corrosion resistant. The last large screen I bought had a very strong mesh made from two different gauges of wire made from one strong mesh, but it is extremely difficult and time consuming to clean and discolours around the edge. I mainly use this new colander for rinsing rice and fresh berries when I get them and it's easy to clean. The mesh is smoothly and securely integrated into the rim. The handle, shell mount and rim are also well finished with no rough edges or sharp edges. This is a well made strainer that completes my collection of strainers and small strainers.
