We tried EVERYTHING to keep our rowdy German Shepherd in the back of the house when we were out. These gates are easy to install. You can screw it to the wall or just use the clamp mounts. We decided to try the plug-in mounts first to avoid drilling holes in the wall. And it works! He either knocked down the other gates or climbed over them. We got home and he sat on the couch as you wish. But these gates are so STRONG and very high. He can't push it at all and because of the vertical railing he can't climb over it because there's nothing to lean his paws on to throw it over. These goals literally changed our lives! Please note that once installed the gate will look a bit slanted where it should snap into place. This will correct itself as you turn the screws to adjust the pressure. And we love the walk through the part. It closes automatically, or you can open it a little further and it stays open. Ideal in every way. I can only recommend this gate!
