Review on Magnasonic Professional Ultrasonic Eyeglasses Instruments by Allen Hart

Unreliable and poorly designed! I've been using this ultrasonic cleaner for less than 11 months and use it occasionally to clean the handle parts. In the beginning it worked quite well. But for a couple of weeks now it has been sounding different when turned on and showed no sign of ultrasonic wave generation. So I opened the device and the attached photos tell the story. There are burn marks on the converter that correspond to burn marks on the circuit board. Most likely, the cheap insulating material on the transducer did not prevent arcing on the circuit board (the ultrasonic cleaner's transducer operates at high voltage). In other words, they didn't use proper insulation to prevent this type of breakage. It is only a matter of time before this model fails. This indicates very poor manufacturing practice. If they'd spent pennies more on better insulating material, this device (and probably many others) would still work. Now I'm buying a higher quality ultrasonic cleaner, not Magnasonic. --------------------------------------------------------------- - ------------------------------------------------ -- ------- -- UPGRADE FROM 1 STAR TO 3 STARS - 04/17/17: I have upgraded my rating from 1 star to 3 due to the excellent customer service provided by the Shoptronics retailer. When my Magnasonic unit failed (as detailed above) I contacted Shoptronics as the air purifier was delivered with no warranty information and no way to contact the manufacturer. Shoptronics sent me a replacement unit that works great (for now). I hope I have better luck with that.
