Review on Dorman M630316 Brake Master Cylinder by Jaleel Kadlecik

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Works great, great OEM master cylinder replacement from a very good manufacturer.

This master cylinder is a perfect match for my 2005 Chevy Colorado. The original was starting to stick so the brake pressure wouldn't release causing my brakes to rub. I got these, poured some DOT3 in and primed (instructions are in the booklet in the box, be sure to follow them. Brakes aren't something you want to be lazy about), then pulled the old one out. and put this in. The whole thing took about an hour and I have no complaints. Everything went smoothly and my brakes are working great again. A new master cylinder for less than $80 isn't a bad deal considering how important your brakes are, and replacing it yourself can save you tons of money. It will likely cost you $200 or more to have a dealership do this for you. This is one of the easiest parts to replace on my truck, it only has 2 solid wires to pull off, 2 mounting nuts and a couple of wire clips to swap out. It literally takes longer to fill a new one than it does to install. Just make sure you blow out the lines after you put everything back together. I can't fault this one and since it's a Dorman product I'm sure it will last me at least as long as the original (150,000 miles).
