I bought a chopper set with a metal lid and a glass bottom. What I found was that every time I used them I had to take the lid off and turn it upside down before grinding, which I found to be quite a chore. Also, customization was difficult and I never got the amount I wanted. I then bought this set to replace the ones I was unhappy with. Doesn't matter! They grind smooth and easy, dose as much as I want, they're very attractive (I even got a compliment on their looks, when did that happen?), they last longer than other sets, and they also have glass walls, so you can see when you need to add a product. The only complaint I think anyone could have is that some salt and pepper comes out of the bottom when you put it back on the counter. But, you know what? The old set had a stand to store them, so I just use this with my awesome new set and my counter stays free of salt and pepper dust. Every time I use them I think about how much I like them.
