Shiny dishes again and no oily feeling on the glass

The packaging was fine, but I'm not sure if it leaked. There were no obvious signs of leakage such as a wet box, lower levels of product in the bottles, or liquid in the bags, but the bags they were in and the bottles appeared to be sticky. There is a sticker on the lids and each bottle came in a plastic bag. I previously bought a bottle on its own and it wasn't sticky so not sure if they leaked. White streaks form on the dishwasher door when it runs out. I used to just use vinegar, which actually works really well, but LG stated that the vinegar "prevents walls, shelves, and even dishwasher dishes from drying out. This eventually leads to rusting of the internals.” So I started looking for a conditioner without vinegar. At first I used rinse aid and finish tablets but this resulted in my dishes having an odd iridescent color that wouldn't go away, a slightly oily feel on the glassware and still white streaks on the dishwasher door. After switching to cascading pods and this Ecover conditioner, the rainbow color faded and all my dishes were shiny again. I'm not sure it would have made it without Ecover, but I'm just glad the rainbow colors are gone and glass items don't feel oily anymore. I got this because of the good EWG score and I wanted something that wasn't full of chemicals. The finish rinse smelled of chemicals. Ecover doesn't smell like chemicals but I can't figure out what it smells like. maybe some citrus. All in all I think it works. I'm taking off one star because it's difficult to put a full bottle into the small opening for the rinse aid compartment, which wastes some product.

Pros
  • Rinse aid
Cons
  • Small things
